Introduction

Cryptocurrencies are the first example of a valued asset with no intrinsic value and no centralized controller. Ultimately, the power of cryptocurrencies must be attributed to its underlying technology: Blockchain. [2] At its very core, blockchain technology is simply a decentralized data-keeping method. Since the blockchain acts as a distributed ledger, trust does not need to be placed into any central power. Rather, the network, made up of nodes scattered around the globe, must come to a consensus regarding what should be written in the ledger. The development team at Berkeley Pharma Tech has done extensive research on the Ethereum blockchain platform, and has chosen to build the CRISPR Token on top of the Ethereum platform with great confidence.

At Berkeley Pharma Tech, we strive to distill and accelerate the latest ideas in biotechnology. Through helping our fellows launch other startups, we create subsidiaries that tackle different projects and make innovations in medicine and medical devices. By assisting our fellows in making their medical breakthroughs, we are creating numerous establishments all with one goal: better quality of life. CRISPR Token was developed in order to help accelerate this mission by offering cryptocurrency users the opportunity to fund research and medical breakthroughs.

Problem Statement

As a young startup company, naturally one of Berkeley Pharma Tech’s main concerns is funding. In order to effectively carry out the Berkeley Pharma Tech mission, it is important to raise enough funds to have sufficient resources to fuel our projects, which often proves difficult for a pre-IPO company. Due to it not yet being listed on any stock exchange, citizens of the world may find trouble in finding opportunities to help support Berkeley Pharma Tech, causing projects to face obstacles as they do not have enough capital to back research.

APPLICATIONS OF THE TOKEN

Utilizing the CRISPR Token, the aforementioned problems are no longer an issue. Global citizens can confidently swap for CRISPR Tokens with the security of knowing that each token they obtain is helping to support Berkeley Pharma Tech, while the company is able to receive the necessary funding to kick off its innovative ideas and projects, including but not limited to, research on Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, diabetes, the microbiome, spaceflight osteopenia, rheumatoid arthritis, and more. We are also committed to environmental causes and are developing ways to synthesize clean energy and mitigate climate change.

Since the CRISPR Token will be hosted using smart contracts on Ethereum, all of the source code will be open source and immutable once the smart contract is deployed onto the network. Also, transactions are performed with a lot less hassle using the CRISPR Token. Users simply pay the transaction fee to reward the miners on the Ethereum network for their token, and the tokens get transferred directly into their own secure digital wallets.

There is a common feature across all advantages of the CRISPR token: security and the elimination of trust. This feature has ultimately driven the adoption of cryptocurrencies in general. Users deserve the knowledge of how secure their tokens really are, without relying on a middleman to tell them. The CRISPR token and its applications are one of the pioneers in the medical field that will see explosive growth within the upcoming decade.

Roadmap to success

In moving forward, we see a very positive trajectory for both the CRISPR Token and Berkeley Pharma Tech. To ensure that our company is perpetuating positive change, we will be spending the first $30,000,000 from the CISPR Token on building a laboratory for our scientists to run fascinating experiments and develop cures for deadly diseases and environmental health challenges.

In order to expand this ecosystem, our team is creating the "Berkeley Pharma Tech Prize," an award similar to the Nobel Prize, that will reward scientists with a significant amount of CRISPR Tokens for their patentable inventions.

Furthermore, Berkeley Pharma Tech is providing other ways to obtain the CRISPR Token. We are launching our Berkeley Pharma Tech Journal of Medicine (BPTJM), an online, open-access, free-to-publish, medical journal. Accepted authors will receive a large reward in CRISPR token for their contribution to the advancement of science.

The game development team at Berkeley Pharma Tech has been working on an extremely fun application: The “Coronavirus War game”. This newest application, to be released later in the year, will be integrated with the CRISPR Token. Those that play the game will have a chance to earn CRISPR Token, which they can then transfer to their digital wallets.

Technicalities

Berkeley Pharma Tech has decided to use the third-party extension, “Binance Chain Wallet” [4], for users to store CRISPR Tokens. It is imperative to implement practices that secure users’ private keys. To accomplish this, Binance Smart Chain has implemented a high-security protocol involving a “seed phrase”, which contains at least 12 words. Write down this seed phrase, and NEVER share it with anyone. Berkeley Pharma Tech advises, for security purposes, to always use a VPN and access the internet from a trusted network whenever accessing their account and making transactions.

Transactions of the CRISPR Token will result in a fee to reward the miners. The transaction fee is the “gas” that runs the network. On the Binance network, the gas is in Binance Coin (BNB). ‘The team at Berkeley Pharma Tech has implemented a convenient user interface where investors can easily purchase and store their CRISPR Tokens. The front-end is written using HTML, CSS, and a popular JavaScript framework, React.js. All of our code is open-source, and can be accessed at https://bscscan.com/address/0xaa3d6308d963f218a6df85f0a94faeacc4ed5ded#code

As mentioned above, to purchase CRISPR Tokens, investors will need to obtain a free Binance Chain Wallet or another digital wallet. The application is user-friendly and secure. Conclusion

CRISPR tokens are named in honor of the 2020 Nobel Prize Winners Jennifer Doudna and Emmanuelle Charpentier, scientists working at UC Berkeley. The tokens also signify the future of biotechnology. You can take action and contribute to medical research and future affordable medicine for all. The CRISPR token is your contribution to yourself, your family, and the world at large. The future of medicine begins here at Berkeley Pharma Tech. Help us reward our scientists for their hard work, talent and genius as they push forth into the frontier of medicine and biotechnology.
