Dr. Gerald Lau is a pragmatic corporate generalist and has counseled and represented Fortune 50 companies, and numerous other businesses at various points throughout their business cycles, from startup to maturity. Mr. Lau specializes in preparing the full range if EB-5-related documents including all offering-related documents, such as accredited investor questionnaires, subscription agreements/purchase agreements, PPMs, and escrow agreements.

In addition, Mr. Lau has drafted agreements with agents and agencies overseas with the full range of project-related documentation including corporate documents, transaction documents, IP agreements, manufacturing agreements, real estate-related agreements, construction agreements, licensing agreements, development agreements, project management agreements, and more.

He is comfortable and successful as a lead dealmaker and negotiator in a variety of contexts and attributes his success to an ability to understand not only the legal risks and how to mitigate them, but also the motivations and business concerns of all parties, and how to creatively and effectively balance competing interests while advocating zealously for his clients and maintaining a good working relationship with the party on the other side of the table.

As a successful trial attorney, Mr. Lau brings not only passion and aggressiveness to the cases he handles, but also prudence and thoughtfulness which are important in litigating efficiently and resolving controversies.

Mr. Lau received his Juris Doctorate from University of California, Berkeley (2000) and received his Bachelor’s from University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business (1997).
