Recent Achievements: “I have completed two Unity game design projects over two semesters in 2021 and have uploaded the final product to itch.io for public viewing. My first project, Slash and Burn, gave me a deeper understanding of zombie games. The second project is called Trunko, which is a 2D side-scrolling roguelike game. Acting as Trunko, you must navigate and fight your way through three floors of enemies, picking up weapons and upgrades along the way, to earn your freedom and return to space. Moreover, I am still working on an HTML game called 2048. The game adopts the most standard web design of HTML+CSS+Javascript. And use Vuetify for front-end UI design to make the whole game look better.”

Aspirations: “After five years, I want to continue developing in the game design field and seek a more senior position for myself. I think game design must be a very hot industry within five years. With the popularization of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, if game design is integrated into it, it will inevitably change how people entertain. I think this internship allowed me to learn new skills, and this one can help me improve myself.”

An example of this is our andrographolide subgroup, where I significantly contribute to this subgroup’s progress: I am the main contributor to the project of andrographolide extraction from plant powders, synthesis of an andrographolide stereoisomer, and purification of andrographolide analogs to test bioavailability on cancer cells. Besides andrographolide, I am also in other subgroups: the neuroscience group; where we create analogs of compounds rivastigmine and vinpocetine to test their effectiveness at treating Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, the total synthesis group; where we are creating a more accessible pathway of totally synthesizing the cyclotripeptide Psychrophilin E, and the ADCs group; where we make antibody-drug conjugates with a variety of drugs to see their effectiveness in treating certain cancers.”
